CTO Midtown Express at The Lucy 2/28/20
February 29 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Making every wedding reception a special event requires a great deal of coordination between the band, the event coordinator, the venue and the client. Sometimes even more coordination is required when other features are included. Bandleader Virgil Walker, and Na’eemah Harper coordinated Midtown Express seamlessly with the wedding planner, the staff of the beautiful Cescaphe Lucy, as well as DJ Eddie Tully/ Heart Beats Entertainment. Added to the mix was a Philadelphia tradition – a Mummers band!
The doors of the main ballroom were opened to upbeat music performed by Midtown Express and then the proceedings were switched to the DJ who introduced the wedding party and bride and groom. The bride and groom were announced as Mr. and Mrs. James DeMarco. The parents of the bride were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hoffman, and parents of the groom were introduced as Mr. and Mrs. James DeMarco
The “new” Mr. and Mrs. DeMarco enchanted the guests with their first dance to Midtown Express performing Ray LaMontagne’s song, You Are The Best Thing. Family and friends joined the newlyweds on the dance floor midway through the song. Midtown then got the party going with a short dance set.
Later, the blessing was offered byFather Kelly. Father of the Bride, Bob Hoffman welcomed the guests, and toasts were offered by the Best Man: Joseph DeMarco, and the Maid and Matron of Honor: Carissa Gaasche and Scarlett Morrison.
Festivities continued with Midtown performing the Bride/Father Dance: The Way You Look Tonight; and the Groom/Mother Dance, My Wish by Rascal Flats. The party never stopped with the band alternating with DJ Eddie Tully, and the Mummers band!
Midtown Express Concluded with a packed dance floor to the classic song Shout!
