CTO Grand Central Showcase at Manhasset Bay Yacht Club in NY

September 28, 2019

CTO- Grand Central-Port Washington, NY

Nice 3 hour drive up to a beautiful historic yacht club in Port Washington NY. Load in was easy using the elevator to the second floor. Band set up by the stairs that go down to the first floor so had the pleasure of meeting many guests as they walked through the band and down the stairs throughout the night. Their first dance “I could die for you” by the Red Hot Chile Peppers came out perfect. The guests were rowdy right from the start as we followed with a 10-minute dance set. The father of the bride gave a really genuine welcome toast and could not hide how happy he was for his daughter. After some toasts and dinner, we started ripping out tunes and kept the dance floor full all night. It sounded really good in that room. Probably the most memorable event the evening started with sparklers. During planning, the bride had an issue where she was thinking of doing a sparkler send-off. The problem was the photographers were leaving 30 minutes before the celebration ended. So we schemed up using the sparklers during cake cutting and moving the cake cutting to the back patio. Bright, our lead singer, followed everyone and played Everlong acoustic and belting out with no microphone a few feet from the bride and groom as they cut their cake. It was a beautiful moment and the bride and groom were so happy it went so well. Really great staff to work with at Manhasset yacht club. The planner was Debbie Hart Celebrations and she was very fun and professional. After our last song, the bride and groom and their families all approached and thanked for making everything go as planned. After finally get back home at 3 am, I couldn’t complain… sometimes when you go the extra mile to make something special, it may literally be many miles and always worth it!
